History and Goals
A brief history of the character:
Murray and Constance Savage met at Flourish and Blott's in Diagon Alley. While they were familiar with each other from being at Hogwarts at roughly the same time; their love of Celtic myths is what drew them together. Murray was working as an actuary for Gringott's not the most exciting position but he had always had a mind for Arithmancy and the goblins appreciated that. Constance worked for Obscurous Books as an editor.
They didn't start dating right away but Constance soon wore Murray down enough for him to accept her offer of dinner after going to a Quidditch match. They married two years later when Constance asked him marry her after announcing that they were going to have a baby whether he did or not. It wasn't that he didn't love her but he always expected someone as vivacious as Constance to eventually find someone else and leave him.
When Graylin came into the world she was a curious mixture of her parents. She had her mother's engaging personality and her mischievous smiles always garnered her positive attention. Yet Graylin also enjoyed the quiet and the opportunity to investigate things on her own. Her curiosity was insatiable and her parents had to keep a close eye on her from being too nosy in their neighbourhood.
Graylin started at Hogwarts in 1984 and was sorted into Ravenclaw house. Graylin had always been very inquisitive but managed to do so without standing out in class. She was mostly known for being terribly perky or oddly quiet. At school while not the most popular girl around she was happy with the small group of friends she had.
It was in her sixth year that Graylin decided that she wanted to be an Auror. Classes like Charms and Transfiguration were the classes she enjoyed the most and her parents had told her about going through the first war, which along with her natural desire to investigate she felt she could be well suited for the career.
As an Auror in training she quickly learned to rely on her natural ability to be quiet and just observe a scene. Although she favoured brightly coloured clothing, Graylin used them almost as a camouflage so that people wouldn't notice what she was actually doing. She was awarded full Auror status in 1994 . In 1996 she along with Aurors Tonks, Dawlish and Proudfoot were assigned protecting the students at Hogwarts.
Short term goals (up to 6 months): Protecting the students at Hogwarts
Long term goals (6+ months): Advancing in the MLE department, protecting the students at Hogwarts, figuring out her own personal truth.

Writing Sample
Graylin sat in the Ministry canteen with her friend Tricia who worked in the Ministry Library. They had become friends when Graylin had first started her training. She had been looking for a rare text she just remembered glimpses of from school that she thought might be pertinent to the case. To her luck and later joy Tricia had been able figure out from the paraphrasing she could remember the exact text. While the information hadn't solved the case she had been pointed in the right direction.
Tricia was bubbly and chatty and knew all kinds of wonderful random bits of information that always caught Gray by surprise.
"So," Tricia leaned in so that their conversation wouldn't be heard. "What do you think of the rumours of You-Know-Who being back?" Hearing the question Gray couldn't help but look over her shoulder to make sure no one had over heard Tricia. "Shhh, you can't go asking questions like that in here!" She sighed, since the end of the Triwizard Tournament, the whole department was on alert and rumours were running wild. To be honest Graylin wasn't sure what to think either. Most were saying that it was untrue and that Dumbledore was just trying to start up trouble. "I don't know what I think. There aren't enough facts right now and you know I like to see more. Why what have you heard?"
Tricia scooted her chair closer and spoke in a lower voice. "They say the morsmordre was cast was a prank. Others say that Dumbledore is just trying to stir up fear and is using Harry Potter to do so. There is also the chance that it's true." She said with a shrug. Graylin could only shake her head. Too much was going on, for now she could only watch and see what would happen.
